Thanksgiving

As the leaves change colours and the air turns crisp, we gather with our family to celebrate one of the year’s most treasured holidays: Thanksgiving.

We celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October. It’s a day for families to gather around the table and reflect on the blessings they have.

My husband is a family man who loves food and gets very excited for the occasion.

He and my children help me with the cooking, while my 10-year-old runs around the house, full of excitement—he loves family gatherings, like his father.

This year, we’re making turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.

After preparing the meal, we set the table, and everyone took their seats. Children thanked their father for everything, and I expressed my gratitude to my husband:

“Thank you for always being there for me, for standing up for me, for taking care of the children and me, and for always keeping us safe. But most importantly, thank you for loving me.”

My husband and I gave thanks for the beautiful family we have and for the loving sanctuary we’ve turned our home into.

After the meal, my husband and the children helped me with the dishes.

Thanksgiving reminds me of how blessed I am to have such an amazing husband, wonderful children, and the privilege of being Canadian. I love Canada deeply, and I am always thankful to my husband for everything.

Here’s to a lifetime of Thanksgivings together!
