Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is Addressing the Rise in Antisemitism

October 7th was a tragic day. It’s a day when the terrorist organisation Hamas carried out the most horrifying attack on Jews since the Holocaust.

Memorial events took place everywhere in Canada.

Canada, under the leadership of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has responded with strong words against rising antisemitism and intolerance and vowed to stop this from happening during a memorial event in Ottawa.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said this during the event:

“It is incumbent on me to give antisemitism no quarter, to stop this rising hate and reverse its spread.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke about fighting the rise in antisemitism in general, Poilievre exploited this tragic event to create divisions.

He falsely blamed Prime Minister Trudeau for the rise in antisemitism, despite the truth being that he has been actively sowing hate among Canadians. He is a far-right politician who is violent and glorifies war.

Since day one, Poilievre has promoted his hate-filled agenda across Canada. And as usual, he exploited this tragic event for political gain, first in the Parliament and then at the ceremony.

This shows that he doesn’t care about the tragedy or the Canadians, only about his selfish ulterior motives.

Jewish Canadians are suffering and hurting; they have been threatened, harassed, and excluded because of their faith and identity, as well as their support for the Jewish people’s right to self-determination. Blatant antisemitic slurs are becoming increasingly common, and we have a responsibility to stop this.

We won’t rest until we have all the hostages returned home safely.

Today, we remember the 12,000 souls taken from us, and our hearts go out to the Jewish community as we stand with them on this painful anniversary.
