Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Calls for De-escalation and Protection of Civilians amid the escalating Violence in Lebanon and Israel
Because of the two wars and Russian propaganda, extremism is rising around the world, and something must be done for peace.
Recently, the leader Hassan Nasrullah of the terrorist organisation Hezbollah died, who was responsible for immense suffering across the region. Hezbollah has deep-rooted alliances with repressive, anti-Israel regimes in Iran and Syria.
Hezbollah is a terrorist organisation that declared its establishment by labelling the West as Islam’s adversaries and calling for the elimination of Israel.
Following the announcement of Nasrallah’s death, Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei issued a threat to Israel and pledged increased support for Hezbollah in Lebanon. This raises concerns about the increased escalation in the region.
In response, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has called for de-escalation, urging peace, the protection of civilian lives, and a diplomatic solution that allows people to return home safely to Israel and Lebanon.
Extremism is wrong. Violence is wrong, and wars are not a solution. I do not understand, nor do I agree with the ideology that makes someone consider their religion superior to others.
Human beings are equal, and we respect every religion while promoting peace, diversity, and inclusion.
