Today, we celebrate National Seniors Day and honour the contributions of seniors who have helped shape Canada into the nation it is today. Seniors built this country and the legacy we stand on.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made significant progress to support seniors, including increasing Canada Pension Plan benefits and raising payments for seniors upon reaching the age of 75.

He is also investing in healthcare improvements across Canada, from coast to coast to coast, with a focus on primary care, long-term care, home care, and family services.

Moreover, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has introduced legislation to make insulin and other diabetes medications entirely free, and through our Canadian Dental Care Plan, 750,000 Canadians, including seniors, have received the dental care they need.

These measures have decreased poverty among seniors significantly.

We love our seniors and recommit to helping them age in good health and dignity.
